Niki Smart is a writer/musician/producer living in Cascais, Portugal. Her first memoir, "Hell Camp" won her 2 x eLit Awards, an invitation to read at The LA Times Festival of Books,  garnered many great reviews, and made it onto the Top Ten Best Seller list at Laguna Beach Books. Smart has released a second memoir, Helter Shelter and is working on a third. She's written numerous screenplays, and is an accomplished musician with over 40 songs recorded and released. Her writings have been published in More Magazine, Laguna Beach Independent, Stu News, Aspen Times, the LA Fashion Magazine, SoCal Magazine and translated into German for the  Gemeindezeitung . Her music has been used in radio/TV commercials, TV shows and movies. Niki is currently the managing editor for SoCal Magazine and worked part-time at a youth shelter for emotionally disturbed teenagers. She's also a yoga teacher.
